Isle of Man

Dear Readers,
Right up near the very top of places I long to visit before I die is the Isle of Man.
Rough, Celtic, Nordic, home of the Manx cat which may have been shipwrecked there and come ashore from the Spanish Armada and the Manx Loaghtan Sheep (I wonder if anyone ever mistook one for a unicorn?, the Fairy Bridge (bad, bad luck to fall from that one!) and now I've discovered that the island also has a HOME OF REST FOR OLD HORSES! How incredibly civilized.
I found this YouTube video of the place and I don't think I'm imagining the wind and sea sounds in the background
Best to you,
Terri

Comments: Champion video! I wish I could see that and be there myself! I hope to travel and see God's beautiful world before I pass on. It is myserious how in the King James Bible.. that God only mentions horses in heaven.. never once any other animal. I think I know where I'm gonna be most of the time. =0)

COOL! Speaking of unicorns, my dad, when he was maybe 23, was at his friend's ranch. Anyway, as he was out in the yard, cleaning the horse trough, saw a horse on a hill. It was a windy day, so it could've been a horse with it's mane blowing, but he thought it was a unicorn. It was a white horse, and the "horn" or mane wasn't blowing, so that's another reason he thought it was a unicorn. Cool, huh?
sounds like a place to viset!

  Nice video and Horse rescue ! I do think Horses have a "special place in our lives; I think it is the Horse's tempermant; they are so eager to please; to have us ride on their backs to carry us around;

and to be so nice and wonderful !

I luv Horses (and burros; unicorns?
(Zebras are a type of Wild Horsetoo
I read in CHICKEN SOUP FOR HORSE LOVER'S SOUL about a horse-rescue center and it was sad. Two ABUSED, NEGLECTED, horses came in. They had been together for 28 years and NEVER came in contact with other horses before.

Long story short they settled in and were VERY full of life once they got over their fears but then some mean hulligan shot one of them and It was really sad.
hello; 'tis sad about the two horses but look at things like this

think how happy the horses were to be rescued; and then how they understood how they were loved by their rescuers...the Horses knew they were loved and cared for...

and that is the most important !
thanks for psoting; anna usa 57
This place sounds really cool. Awesome that there's a horse rescue!
Also did you know that Whoopi Goldberg rescues retired horses? I just saw that the other day when my mom was watching TV. I thought it was cool.
