Can you find the bad luck horse?
HI,
Some of you have noticed links between the original PHANTOM STALLION books and WILD HORSE ISLAND. Hoku is the Phantom's full sister, of course, Darby& Sam are friends, but I've only heard from one reader who was able to find Jinx -- shown here on the cover of HEARTBREAK BRONCO -- in the Hawaiian series.
How about you? Can you spot any mention(s) of him?
His coat color is a bronze grulla, if that helps!

Comments: I know he was owned by the Potter family, who live on WHI! is he related to one of Ann's horses? I remember a grulla, but i don't remember its name!
Also, Ann used to live in Nevada on happy hearts ranch, I think?!?!
I remember Ann's family owned him and (i think) sold Jinx to Shan Stonerow back when they lived in Nevada.I also remember Ann's father saying that if Hoku had belonged to Shan then it was a miracle that she wasn't ruined,but at the moment my memory fails me and I can't remember why he sold Jinx.(maybe because he needed money?)

I was just wondering... does Tyson in WHI tease Darby because he sort of admires or "likes" her... or does Ty's friend end up liking Darby? My friend has a Grula colored horse! =0) Beautiful illustrations
Jinx used to belong to Mr. Potter before he sold Happy Heart ranch (i think that's what it's called.) Didn't it become a housing developement place? I definetly remember that Ann Potter lived in Nevada. I thought it was really cool when Darby met her and now their friends.
p.s. Heart Breakbronco has always been one of my favorites!
Jinx was owned by Mr.Potter, Ann's father, back when Happy Heart Ranch was still a ranch. Jinx even bears the Happy Heart Brand (a broken heart) along with his Freeze Brand. As a 'homework' assignment for HARP, Brynna had Sam, Crystal & Amelia decipher the Alpha Angle Code in Jinx's freeze brand. Jinx is from Nevada :)
Dallas knew Jinx as a yearling, which you can find on page 67 of Heartbreak Bronco. Dallas also says something about the Potters moving to Hawaii after a string of bad luck and selling the ranch, which becomes happy Heart Homes.
Clara bought him for $1 and a piece of cake, then put him on loan to HARP with plans to enter him in a Claiming Race. Lucky Jinx was ALMOST adopted by Linc Slocum, but it turns our Sheriff Ballard wanted Jinx to help out with Search and Rescue missions.
We see Jinx a few other times in the Phantom Stallion series, though his name isn't in Wild Horse Island (that I remember anyway) there is mention of a grulla gelding.
Jinx has always been one of my favorite Phantom Stallion horses. Why? He's my good luck horse. :-D

Dose Tyson like Darby? Hmm....I would like to say yes. Why else would he tease her and take such an intrest. Sure he's a pain but he is intrested isn't he?

Jinx is sweet but it was Tinkerbell who captured my heart!
