Unwanted Horses

Dear Readers,
For most of us, the title of this blog is an oxymoron -- a seeming contradiction. How could anyone NOT want a horse?
But it happens and the results are often ugly, even though the horses aren't.
Before I did the benefit for the Nevada Humane Society, I poked around on their website and found dozens of horses up for adoption -- Arabians, Thoroughbreds, Mustangs, Appaloosas, Paints -- and for many, the adoption fee had been zeroed out. They just wanted good homes for these horses.
To find horse rescue organizations near you, you many want to check out:
You may want to check out this website:
UNWANTEDHORSECOALITION.ORG
One very important element on this website is a place to enter your zip code and find out where unwanted horses are being cared for. If you know anyone who is neglecting or abusing a horse, this may come in handy. It's usually better to offer a solution, than just yell (or cry) at someone.
Best,
Terri

Comments: cool, i'll check it out. p.s. I ordered "Faraway Filly" and it should get here soon! I can't wait!
  I was looking around on the site, and I went here:http://www.unwantedhorsecoalition.org/?id=7&s=4
That site lists all the places horses are. There is a place there called Circle L Ranch. I have been there, and have spoken to the people there. They are so nice, and so many of their horses are beautiful and nice! They came up for the carrots we fed to them, and let us pet them and everything. My two little sisters got a kick out of it! It was so much fun, and I might volunteer there as I get older. It's wonderful to see al those people there helping the horses, but it's devastating to see all the horses there! We need to help them! Anyway possible!
  Thanks terri! If i see any abused horses, i'll know where to write!
  Thanks Terri and fellow bloggers;

oh; so oxymoron means: a seeming contradiction ? I never knew the meaning; intersting...thank u;

I; too; appreciate the website; I did press my state and there are three Horse rescues in Conn.

I like the idea of people such as myself; who do not own a Horse; to consider volunteering at one of the Horse Rescues; as a poster said

I dream about volunteering at a Horse Rescue;

maybe this summeer I can help out;

I wouldn't mind pitching hay and feed; drawing water; cleaning stall

Grooming horses could be fun ! anna

ps I like reading the posters blogs
  I love oxymorons! There are tons of them in Romeo & Juliet like
"Parting is such SWEET sorrow..."
I mean, sorrow's not sweet, but it's said when Romeo & Juliet are kissing & saying good-bye, and kissing good-bye some MORE...
I love that play :)
  Hi Terri:

Ha Ha ! That's funny; truly I never knew the meaning; I looked up the definition in the dictionary many a time; but could not grasp the meaning; Oxymorons; "a seeming contradtiction....kind like when Micahel Jackson sings; I'm bad; he actually means; I'm good ? lol

like there are No unwanted Horses ?

asd there are only Wanted Horses?

thanks; Anna ps oh; so Oxymoron is not "a moron pulling an Ox ? lol
  You know, I was just thinking. How could someone NOT want a horse? It's just cra-z!!! I mean, come on. I would give ANYTHING to own a horse. I love riding them, and everything to do with horses! My favorite breeds are Mustang, and Quarter Horse...ha, ha.
