NEVADA READING WEEK

Dear Readers,
It's NEVADA READING WEEK! Fun events would be pelting you like popcorn if you were here.
I'm doing my "Hooked on Horses" presentation at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute for the University of Nevada and the instant I finish, I'll be jogging downstairs and racing to the Nevada State Reading conference where I'll give a workshop called "The Idea Factory" & then sign books and hang out with the teachers and librarians I've missed since I stopped teaching everyday!
"Vampires in the Classroom" is the workshop I'll give Saturday morning and midday, my friend Suzanne Morgan Williams (BULLRIDER) and I will speak on "Writing the West." Due to Suzy's mad skills, that's shaping up to be a wonderful presentation and we'll be giving it other places, as well.
Readers often ask if I know famous writers, so I'll mention that I'm looking forward to getting together with Bruce Hale --he writes the Chet Gecko mystery series and more -- and Ellen Hopkins, author of CRANK, GLASS, and other great verse novels for a Thai dinner :)
Then, on Sunday, I'll be stopping by the Girls Horse Club site to eavesdrop on the interview with Michelle, the site's Lead Mare!
Fun weekend ahead & I hope you'll understand if I'm a bit slow with email.
Best,
Terri

Comments: hey miss Terri Farley, is your book Seven Tears Under The Sea good for young teens or is it strictly adult? Cause I want to read it but mom isn't so sure it is good for my age group.
  HI!
SEVEN TEARS INTO THE SEA is listed as a young adult book in all the schools & libraries and was nominated as an American Library Association best book for young adults...so, I think it would be fine. Of course, it would be great if your mom read it to be sure. That's what I usually did with books I wasn't sure about, and I found my way into lots of cool stories that way.
Best,
Terri
