NEVADA READING conference

Dear Readers,
I had a wonderful time at the reading conference! I miss being around teachers and librarians almost as much as I miss having a class full of my own students. Maybe my classroom's just gotten a little bigger though :)
It was fun doing the IDEA FACTORY workshop and so cool talking with people about VAMPIRES IN THE CLASSROOM. Best of all, though, was WRITING THE WEST -- a presentation with my friend Suzy Williams. On the big screen wed photos Suzy had taken all over the West and we proposed questions, showing our audience how we get ideas from falling down cabins, gravestones, little boys in Pow Wow gear, etc. I read letters from readers telling why they love the West and its horses, and showed a short but super film of me telling how I got the idea for the PHANTOM STALLION series, starring -- THE REAL PHANTOM!
Suzy & I will be traveling between Portland, Oregon and Seattle, Washington in early April, doing school visits and book signings. Our schedule is still a little bit flexible, so if you know of a school that would like us to drop in and talk books (or give a full-fledged writing workshop, let me know asap!
Reading SO rocks!!!
Terri

p.s. "See" you around the barn at Girls Horse Club today!
