Comments: Mrs. Farely... all I can say is wow.
What an experience. How did you get to this point? I mean how did you get to be such an awesome author and then meet your phantom stallion?
I admire you and your phantom (Zanzibar..)
~Rach

HI -- the Phantom in my imagination came before I knew about the real one...maybe. It's just barely possible that he was the long gray mustang I saw on the cattle drive, on the day when the idea for the stories came to me. In horse miles, he was fewer than 100 miles from where he was captures.
Oh, and the Wild Horse Sanctuary where he lives now is in northern California, but he remains VERY elusive.
p.s. Rach -- as for how I got where I am...it's a combination of passion for the horses, good fortune, and the support of people who liked what I was doing, or, in the case of my family, loved me enough to see I was TOTALLY SERIOUS and DETERMINED to write my books, and supported me.
Sometimes it is hard to believe all that's happened. My first morning on Dahana Ranch, I remember being surrounded by horses and looking over rolling hills so green my eyes could hardle take it all in and thinking: Whatever I had to do to get here, it was worth it!
Again Wow... Life is short... unfortuately for many free-roaming horses that are rounded up. Thank you for deticating part of your life to help the lives of others... the horses.
~Rach
wow, that is so cool. it's amazing!
