Be HEARD for the HERD

Dear Readers,
Some members of Congress are really working hard to save American horses from slaughter. Congress has only been back in session for a few days, and a bill has already been introduced to help.
And here's a totally simple -- it will take you about two minutes -- way to let your voice be heard for the herd!
Click on the link below, enter your zip code & follow the directions. The site even has a place to click to insert different pre-written messages. Of course you can write one of your own.

BE HEARD

Here's mine:

Dear Congressman Heller:
Please use your vote to fight slaughter of American horses.
Ending the illegal trade of Nevada's wild horses, leaving them as a tourist attraction, makes more sense.
I recently worked with the Wild Horse Preservation League and was APPROVED for a grant toward that end.
Why not let the horses pay their own way?

Best,
Terri Farley

  One more thing Terri. Have you heard about what they are saying in this article? The article is at, http://tuesdayshorse.wordpress.com/2008/04/29/young-foals-shot-in-nevada-us/
This happened awhile ago, back in April of 2008, but I was wondering if you knew anything about it...=( it's sad to me, if it's true.
  Hi Terri and fellow HorseProtectors

Thank u; when I pressed BE HEARD on this blog; a screen with a little box to enter my Zip Code appreared; so I entered my Zip code at the top of the screen;

then a form appeared for me to write to my Congressman in my state of Conn. which I did; then I just entered the last 4 digits of my zip code and pressed send; then a message appeared which said messge snet to my Congressman;

I wrote this to my Congressman conn

Hello Congressman:

I was just wondering if you are aware of this Bill;

transporting American bred Horses to Mexico and Canada is not in the Horses' best interest;

Do you think family Pets should be sent to Mexico and Canada to be face an uncertain fate? I do not !

This is a horrible disrespect to America's Horses;

Brith Control for Wild Mustangs is the answer...or Wild Horse reguges;

Let's stop the cruelty to Equines until they are safe...Thank you;AR
  ps i read the article posted by Katie about the Foals being targeted by an unknonw bad person;

thank u for the article and to whoever has harmed these 3 foals ?

I hope they find u as soon as they can;

and stop the harming of Wild Foals!
  I did this immediatly. thanks for helping us to find all these places to speak for the wild horses mrs. farley.
  ps yes thanks Mrs. Terri Farley; it is an honor writing on your blog

I recieved this "form letter" from my Representavie in Conn.

Thank you for emailing me with your thoughts and comments. Knowing your views will be very helpful as I continue to work to represent the needs and concerns of the 4th District of Connecticut in the United States House of Representatives. I am glad you took an active part in our government by contacting me to share your thoughts, and I appreciate your patience in awaiting a detailed response to your specific concerns.

Every day, I receive a large number of e-mails on a variety of issues. For this reason, I can only respond to those e-mails I receive from residents of the 4th District of Connecticut. The online form you completed before submitting this e-mail will enable me to know which messages are from citizens of the 4th District. If you are not a constituent, I would encourage you to contact the Member who represents your area.

Again, thank you for writing. Please feel free to visit my Web site http://himes.house.gov/ to follow my work in the House of Representatives.
  Thanks for helping, everyone.
